Where Your “Wonder” Begins to Move

A Place Where Wonder Begins

WPÜ SHINJUKU Artist In Residence Program is a residency program hosted by WPÜ SHINJUKU, a hotel located in Shinjuku, Tokyo. “Wonder-Powered You” means unlocking the surprise and potential within you. Transforming the hotel into a place where art and culture intersect and new culture begins to grow. Guests, creators and artists naturally come together here, where conversations and chance encounters generate new perspectives. Depending on each format. Whether creation, research, workshops or events, expressions can take shape through the GALLERY, the LOUNGE, and even everyday life itself.

Expression Emerges Through the Stay

Create Within the Stay.

Each residency type includes an opportunity for output during AIR Week, the final week of the program. The format is open—exhibition, performance, talk, workshop, or otherwise. Within the open setting of a hotel, art intersects with everyday life and takes shape through dialogue with visitors. We hope this experience becomes the beginning of your next chapter.
