This workshop offers a hands-on experience of Kakizome, a traditional Japanese New Year practice.
Kakizome is a custom in which people express their current feelings, wishes, or goals for the new year by writing words with brush and ink at the beginning of the year.
In this workshop, participants will choose one kanji character as a theme and freely express:
・their current state of mind
・what kind of year they wish to create ahead
The event will begin with a live calligraphy performance by a professional calligrapher, followed by a hands-on Kakizome experience where participants will write using traditional brushes and ink.
Completed works can be displayed at the venue or taken home as a personal keepsake.
Enjoy a quiet, reflective moment as you connect with yourself while experiencing Japanese culture.
