NIPPON WINE HOUR vol.3 — Pairing Japanese Natural Wine with Japanese Cuisine

3:00 pm  @ WPÜ SHINJUKU
Pop-Up

On Saturday, December 20th, Nachumaru Wine Store and WPÜ SHINJUKU will host the third edition of our event series exploring the depth and diversity of wine.

This series reinterprets wine not simply as a “beverage,” but as something shaped by ingredients, makers, and culture—inviting guests to uncover the many layers behind each bottle. With WPÜ SHINJUKU’s uniquely international atmosphere, where nearly 90% of our guests come from abroad, the event offers a moment to experience the landscapes and cultures of various regions, all while staying in the heart of Shinjuku.

The theme for this edition is “Pairing Japanese Natural Wine with Japanese Cuisine.” We will showcase a wide range of expressive, characterful bottles that reflect the diverse terroirs of Japan. Our food guests include Yamisushi, an acclaimed traveling sushi chef without a physical storefront, and Gallo, a charcoal-grill and natural wine restaurant located in Yotsuya Sanchome. Together, they will prepare sushi and oden designed to pair beautifully with the wines.

Four distinctive wineries from across Japan will join us, each sharing the stories of the land they work with and the philosophies behind their craft. As wine meets food, “the taste of Japan” reveals yet another new expression.

The event will take place in the hotel lounge and is open to everyone in a casual, walk-in-friendly format.
We warmly invite you to stop by and enjoy a relaxed afternoon of Japanese wine and cuisine.
